Important Hotel Occupancy Tax Information

All hotel operators — including motels, inns, tourist homes, lodging houses, and bed & breakfast establishments — are required to collect a 7% City Hotel Occupancy Tax from guests and remit it to the City of Edinburg. The tax does not apply when a reservation is made for 30 continuous days or more and the guest stays the entire duration. Local Hotel Occupancy Tax revenues must follow strict state guidelines and may only be used to promote tourism and attract visitors to Edinburg.
