Edinburg, TX – With hurricane season quickly approaching, the City of Edinburg, in conjunction with the Texas Division of Emergency Management, Hidalgo County, Texas A&M Agri-Life, and the cities of McAllen, Mission, Pharr, and Weslaco, will host a Joint Regional Hurricane Preparedness Press Conference on Monday, May 22 at Edinburg City Hall at 9 a.m.

A live cooking demonstration hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and the Hidalgo County Judge’s Office and Fire Marshal to show the community how to safely prepare food if they find themselves without power will be held immediately following the press conference. County Judge Richard Cortez, KRGV Chief Meteorologist Tim Smith, and Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. will participate in the demonstrations by preparing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, respectively.
