Local chamber seeks to inform voters before Dec 14 run-off election

Edinburg Citizens will have the opportunity to hear from 6 individuals running for city council during the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce Candidates Forum. The forum is set for Friday, November 19, 2021 at 9 A.M.
All candidates will be given an opportunity to state their stance and answer a formal question and answer format. Moderating the event is Edinburg Chamber Vice President of Public Affairs, Veronica Gonzales, who will ask questions related to the office they are seeking.
The following candidates are scheduled to speak:
Mayoral: Mayor Richard Molina and Ramiro Garza Jr.
Council Place 1: Dan Diaz and Smiley Martinez
Council Place 2: Ruben “Bubba” Palacios and Jason De Leon
The event will be held at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance. Limited tables of 4 will be available for purchase by contacting the Edinburg Chamber.
The forum will be streamed live online on livestream.com/eccr. The forum will be published on the Edinburg Chambers Youtube channel after the event.
Edinburg citizens can cast their ballots during early voting held on November 29, 2021 – December 10, 2021 or on run-off election day December 14, 2021.
The Public Affairs series was first introduced in 2006, and since has covered popular topics addressing community and legislative issues. The vision is to inform, involve and educate citizens and civic leaders. The event also allows business professionals to network and forge relationships.
