Grant will support veterans in San Antonio and across the U.S.
San Antonio, TX (Nov. 8, 2017) – The Coca-Cola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Coca-Cola Company, today announced a $50,000 grant to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. The Coca-Cola Foundation grant will serve at least 80 military families with critical financial assistance including rent payments, food and groceries, utilities, and critical baby items.
“We are excited to be able to expand our Critical Financial Assistance program with support from The Coca-Cola Foundation,” said Brig Gen (ret) John I. Pray, Jr, President and CEO of Operation Homefront. “By working together, we will help those military families, who are struggling to make ends meet, receive the critical assistance they need to keep them in their homes, the lights on and food on their tables.”
For more than 15 years, Operation Homefront has provided programs that offer relief, resiliency and recurring family support programs and services that help military families overcome the short-term financial issues so they don’t become long-term debilitating problems.
“Our U.S. veterans have given so much to serve our country and they need our support when they return home. Operation Homefront meets the immediate needs of returning veterans and their families so that they are better equipped to return to civilian life and be of service to their communities.” said Helen Smith Price, President, The Coca-Cola Foundation.
The Coca-Cola Foundation grant to Operation Homefront is one of 11 grants that the Coca-Cola Foundation has awarded to veteran’s organizations in honor of Veterans Day. The Coca-Cola Foundation grant recipients include: American Corporate Partners; American Red Cross; Folds of Honor Foundation; FourBlock Foundation; Hire Heroes USA; Operation Homefront, Inc.; Team Rubicon; The Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation; The Mission Continues; United Service Organizations (USO) and United Spinal Association. These organizations offer a wide range of programs designed to assist more than 75,0000 veterans across the country through every step of their return home, from covering their immediate financial needs to job skills training to community service and leadership programs.
