EDINBURG, Texas – The City of Edinburg invites the community to gather for a powerful and heartfelt Juneteenth Ceremony: Celebrating Freedom, History, and Unity on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, located just behind City Hall. This special evening honoring Juneteenth will be a moving tribute to freedom, resilience, and community strength. 

Through meaningful moments of reflection, music, and shared experience, attendees will be invited to connect with the spirit of unity that continues to shape the nation and the city. The ceremony is designed to bring people together to stand united in a collective celebration of progress and hope.

Immediately following the ceremony, the community is invited to continue the evening at the Juneteenth Celebration in the City Hall Courtyard at 7:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy a vibrant outdoor celebration featuring local vendors, community exhibits, festival food, and the unforgettable sounds of Motown by Memphis Soul.

Memphis Soul is a classy, high-energy 8-piece group showcasing a distinctive sound and style. They will be performing classic Motown covers such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Otis Redding, Al Green, and many more. This lively celebration offers a chance to come together in joy and fellowship while honoring the rich cultural legacy and enduring spirit of unity that Juneteenth represents. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore cultural exhibits from The Freedom Walks, Village in the Valley, and the Museum of South Texas History. Admission is free and open to the public.
