Thursday evening, Falfurrias agents working south of the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint encountered a Chevrolet Tahoe driving erratically on the northbound lane of Highway 281.

The Tahoe changed direction as it approached the checkpoint, turning at a crossover and nearly striking a marked Border Patrol unit. A vehicle stop was performed to ensure the safety of all occupants. Several inconsistencies in the driver’s statement prompted the agents to request consent to search the vehicle and its contents.

A visible suitcase in the backseat was searched and a 25-year-old female, a citizen of Mexico, was discovered zipped inside. Further investigation led to the discovery of three other subjects, citizens of Mexico, El Salvador, and Honduras, hidden under cutouts of suitcases in the third-row backseat.

Shortly after the discovery of the other subjects, the 25-year-old female went into shock and stopped responding. Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) began to treat the unconscious subject until an ambulance arrived and was able to transport her to a hospital.

The driver was placed under arrest, and all subjects were processed accordingly.
