McALLEN, Texas — The McAllen Fire Department will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. at McAllen Central Fire Station, located at 201 N. 21st Street in McAllen.
The ceremony will honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, as well as the heroes who answered the call in the face of tragedy. As the nation marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the McAllen Fire Department will continue its longstanding tradition of bringing the community together for a solemn moment of reflection, remembrance and gratitude.
Mayor Javier Villalobos and the McAllen City Commission, city leadership and administration, Fire Chief Juan A. Gloria, McAllen Fire Department staff, firefighters, first responders and community members are invited to gather in remembrance of those whose lives were forever changed that day.
Year after year, the department has held this remembrance ceremony to ensure the stories of September 11, 2001, are never forgotten. This year’s gathering will include stories and reflections from that fateful day, providing an opportunity to pause, remember the lives lost, honor the courage of those who responded and reflect on the enduring legacy of service and sacrifice.
