Meeting Lucinda S. Leyva is a privilege to anyone that loves business. She has succeeded in a business field that requires special attention from every aspect. When Texas Border Business met with her, I found her to have a strong will and belief in herself, now more than ever.
When she came into the business, her late husband asked her to help run the cosmetology school that they had acquired in 1976. “I was thrown into this business,” but, she accepted the challenge. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has announced the hiring of Rick Anderson as executive vice president for Finance and Administration. Anderson, who currently serves as vice president for Administration and treasurer at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, will replace Martin Baylor, who announced his retirement in April.
