The Pharr International Trucking Expo came at the right time to the right place. It is near to hundreds of companies serving the trucking industry and also, near the Pharr International Bridge, the door to or from Mexico, a country of more the 120 million residents.

Trancasa, a company that for 27 years has served south Texas and Mexico with competitive and quality ground transportation solutions was one of the companies that showed at this Expo.

It was here where Texas Border Business met with Ilsa Fernandez, Executive Director of Trancasa.

Ilsa said, “The company started in 1991 in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas in Mexico. We have continued to expand the company to the United States and Canada.”

Ilsa felt that the Pharr International Trucking Expo was a good idea that gave them the opportunity to show what Trancasa has to offer. She said, “We have six different office/terminals distributed within the United States and Mexico. In the United States, we are in Pharr and Laredo; and in Mexico, we are in Rio Bravo, Nuevo Laredo, Cienega de Flores, Manzanillo, and soon in Queretaro.” Offices and their terminal in Pharr are located at 1501 West Hi-Line, 2 minutes away from Pharr’s International Bridge.

Ilsa also pointed out that their focus is also on improving how they use technology. “We have top of the line equipment with a special interest in security.”

When you say “top of the line” equipment, what do you mean?

Ilsa: “Not any of our trucks and neither any of our boxes has more than three years in the Company. All of our equipment is practically new. We currently have around 500 units and 1200 trailers,” she said.

The proper use of technology and the effectiveness of their fleet makes them the leading company in international ground transportation. “We provide over-the-road solutions to the most important textile factories in Mexico, and we also serve in the United States, and including Canada. That is why we lead as the specialists in door-to-door services.”

About the technology they use, Ilsa elaborated; “We have tracking systems in our trucks, which provide us the traveling speed as well as other information. In our trailers, we have load-sensing systems, door sensors, and closed-circuit cameras in our trucks, which have helped us a lot in the matter of security, and accident prevention. Our focus is to give our customers the best service possible.”

How many employees does Trancasa have?

Ilsa: “In total, we are between 900 and 1,000 employees.” One of their attributes is to be able to deliver 24/7 in the United States and to work hard alongside customers to deliver their goods throughout 48 states and including Canada. “We aim to satisfy their needs and generate added value to their logistics operations,” she said.

Besides, they are always recruiting the best operators. “We do have a process of recruitment and certain requirements to guarantee we can choose the best employees for the company. We are always on the lookout for new operators as well as operational and administrative personnel,” she stated.

Another critical piece of information, Ilsa emphasized, is that they use the same truck for your cargo to help avoid any possibility of transfer errors. “With every job, customer service and satisfaction are a top priority. Assigned representatives are always available to provide real-time shipment updates, and monitoring your cargo is a great responsibility to us,” she finalized.
