EDINBURG, TEXAS — Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 announces that its contractor, Venser Contractors LLC, will temporarily close Diamondback Dr. to complete drainage infrastructure improvements.
The road closure will affect Diamondback Dr. from Shary Rd. to Glasscock Rd. Closure activities are scheduled to begin on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., and are expected to conclude Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
The temporary closure is necessary to facilitate the open cut roadway work and installation of a 48-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) stormwater drainage system leading to the outfall located on the south side of the right of way. Construction activities will also include backfilling, material compaction, and restoration of the roadway to its original condition.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling near the construction area. HCDD #1 appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed to enhance drainage infrastructure and stormwater management within the community.
