McALLEN, Texas – On January 8, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials notified the McAllen Police Department of a wanted individual around 9:00 AM. Leonel Perez Delgado was arrested at the Hidalgo Port of Entry upon attempting to enter the United States.
McAllen Police Officers received custody of Leonel Perez Delgado and he faces formal arraignment in the McAllen Municipal court for Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution, a Third Degree Felony.
This investigation remains ongoing. The McAllen Police Department continues to combine its efforts with local, state and federal agencies to further resolve this crime and secure the arrest of the person(s) involved.
