The crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com needs to reach the goal of $2,400 to move into the first stages of production. Crowdfunding is asking a crowd of people to donate an amount of money for a specific cause or project in exchange for various rewards. With most projects, backers (people who support a project) donate to a project in exchange for tangible, non-monetary rewards such as the finished product, a t-shirt or a “thank you note.” There are several websites that allow creators to request crowdfunding. The most famous one is Kickstarter.com, but you may also consider indiegogo.com, rockethub.com or fundable.com.
The McAllen Chamber of Commerce invites the community to learn, share and support the project by visiting www.mcallenchamber.com or the project site on Kickstarter.com.
Each sponsor or backer can choose one of various generous incentives for their contribution. Any contribution makes a difference! The deadline to support and share the project is December, 31, 2013.
