Presently, he is retired living in Mission, Texas with his wife and son.
Since retirement in 2015, he has spent most of his productive time in a business he had started upon retirement. On the personal side, Rubik has turned passionate about nutrition and the desirable effects of healthy eating. He has learned to cook, albeit in a limited variety, and is studying and writing about preventing and overcoming obesity and effective weight management strategies.
