RGV Agents Identify a Gang Member and Three Sexual Predators

EDINBURG, Texas – Over the weekend, Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol agents arrested a gang member and three Mexican nationals with previous arrests and convictions for sexual related crimes against children.

Friday morning, Rio Grande City agents working in Roma, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran national later identified as a Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member with several immigration violations.

Later that day, Weslaco agents apprehended six individuals shortly after they illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks for a Mexican national, later identified as Abel GUERRERO-Vazquez, revealed an arrest and conviction for aggravated sexual assault of a child. The man was subsequently sentenced to 18 years confinement.

Saturday morning, McAllen agents working in Mission, Texas, arrested a Mexican national after he was rafted across the Rio Grande by a human smuggler. During processing, record checks for the man, later identified as Fabian GUZMAN-Diaz, revealed a previous arrest by the New York Police Department for sexual abuse 1st degree / sexual contact with individual less than 11 years old. The man was found guilty and was sentenced to two years confinement.

The following day, agents working near Mission, Texas, arrested four illegal aliens after traversing through the dense brush. During processing, record checks for a Mexican national, later identified as Marcos Antonio JACOBO, revealed a previous arrest in Kansas by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. LCSO charged JACOBO with aggravated indecent liberties with a child. JACOBO was found guilty and received 59 months incarceration. 

Border Patrol processed the subjects accordingly.
