PHARR – PSJA Southwest Early College High School’s theatre troupe was recently named the UIL State Theatre Champion based on the results of the 2019 UIL State One-Act Play, Film, and Theatrical Design Contests.
The PSJA Southwest Early College troupe earned 1st place in the 5A division, and its sister school PSJA North Early College High School’s troupe came in 3rd place for the 6A division.
Students from both troupes also earned 12 of the 48 state medals awarded in this year’s 5A/6A State competition.

The PSJA Southwest ECHS Troupe is led by Drama Directors Sergio Sauceda, Carlos Palacios, and Johnny Triallayes. The PSJA North ECHS Troupe is under the direction of Drama Directors Bryan Honl, Jacqueline Zepeda, and Tommie Green.
