The initiative is part of Pharr EDC’s continued efforts to expand workforce development programming through its Tech & Trade Series, hosted through the Pharr Global Business Hub. The series focuses on connecting emerging technologies, skilled trades, industry expertise, and workforce opportunities to ensure the region is prepared to meet current and future employer demands.

“Workforce development is essential to the continued growth and success of our community and regional economy,” said Victor Perez, President and CEO of Pharr EDC. “By partnering with organizations like Electra XD, we are working to create more accessible pathways for individuals to gain valuable skills and certifications while helping employers connect with a stronger and more qualified workforce. These opportunities are critical as our region continues to grow and attract new investment.”

Pharr EDC Economic & Workforce Director Leticia Adame said the partnership reflects the organization’s commitment to listening to industry needs and creating practical opportunities that directly benefit the workforce.

“We continue to hear from employers about the need for qualified, skilled workers and accessible training opportunities,” said Adame. “Through our Tech & Trade Series at the Pharr Global Business Hub, we are working to bring much-needed courses and resources directly to our community and region. By offering bilingual training and certification options, we can help remove barriers and ensure more individuals have the opportunity to build skills, advance their careers, and prepare for in-demand jobs.”

The partnership with Electra XD represents another step in Pharr EDC’s broader workforce development strategy, which focuses on connecting education, training providers, employers, and community partners to create meaningful career pathways for residents.
