Mission, TX – If parents and children are looking to get the most out of their trick-or-treating excursion for Halloween, the City of Mission is the place to be. Mission ranked among the best in America for the annual tradition, according to a new ranking.
The list, compiled by the financial website SmartAsset, ranked the best places in the United States to go trick-or-treating, and Mission earned the twelfth spot on the website’s list. Only four Texas cities made the top 25.
“I’m not surprised we picked up this recognition and topped the list for South Texas,” Mayor Dr. Armando O’Caña said. “We have a great community, with phenomenal police officers and firefighters that hit the streets on this holiday to keep our kids safe.”
The City of Mission was selected after SmartAsset looked at the following seven metrics:
- Single-family housing density,
- Percentage of residents younger than age 15,
- Median home value,
- Violent crime rate,
- Property crime rate,
- Precipitation rate,
- Average temperature.
