The Mission CISDD Board of Trustees has been selected as a Texas Honor School Board by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA). They are one of the top five school boards from the state’s twenty service centers. The judging committee states the standout factors for this board are their work on the curriculum audit, increasing the fund balance, and the improving of district culture.
The members of the nominated 2020-2021 Board of Trustees are Minnie R. Rodgers, President; Jerry Zamora, Vice-President; Veronica “Betty” R. Mendoza, Secretary; Petra B. Ramirez, Member; Juan M. Gonzalez, Member; Iris Iglesias, Member; and Roy Vela, Member.
“This is an extremely deserved honor for our Board of Trustees to be selected as one of the top five school boards in the state of Texas,” states Dr. Carol G. Perez, Mission CISD superintendent. “Our School Board has made our district and community very proud! They work diligently every day for our students and staff.”
This program recognizes school boards across the state that have demonstrated outstanding dedication and rendered ethical service to Texas children. TASA is a professional association for Texas school superintendents and other administrators. Texas school superintendents who are TASA members may submit nominations to their respective education service centers for state recognition. An extensive list of criteria to evaluate the nominated school boards is used to determine the Texas Outstanding School Board.
