\McAllen Public Library in McAllen, Texas has received the 2024 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA), an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League. This marks the 11th consecutive year that McAllen Public Library has been recognized for its outstanding commitment to serving the community.
“McAllen Public Library continues to set the standard for excellence, innovation, and community service. Earning this award for the 11th consecutive year is a testament to the library’s dedication to enriching lives through education, technology, and inclusive programming,” said McAllen City Manager Isaac J. Tawil. “We are proud of the library’s role in making McAllen a city of opportunity and lifelong learning.”

According to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, only 102 of the 542 public libraries in Texas received this prestigious award in 2024, underscoring McAllen Public Library’s ongoing dedication to excellence and community enrichment.
