This year, taxpayers will have an extra day to pay their 2020 property taxes without additional penalties. Normally the deadline to pay property taxes is January 31, but since this year, that falls on a Sunday, the last day to pay those taxes, without additional penalties is Monday, February 1, 2021. Payments mailed must also bear the February 1, 2021 U.S. Postal Service postmark.
2020 City of McAllen property tax statements were mailed November 1, 2020. Failure to receive a tax statement does not affect the validity of the tax, penalty or interest. Property owners who did not receive a tax statement should call the City of McAllen Tax office at (956) 681-1330 or may go online to view copy of their tax statement.
