The McAllen Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are a very highly visible, very effective group of business professionals whose primary function is to serve as the official Chamber representatives at all ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremonies welcoming new businesses to the area.  In addition, Ambassadors participate at special events, such as Business-After-Hour Mixers, Membership Events, Good Day McAllen Luncheons, programs and retention efforts to keep members as informed and involved as possible.  Ambassadors also integrate members into the Chamber’s programs and services by recruiting associates, colleagues and business contacts to join the Chamber and by promoting Chamber events and encouraging member attendance.

“The Ambassadors are a fundamental part of a chamber’s success,” stated Blanca Cardenas, Vice President of Membership Services. “It’s volunteers such as these who cultivate a chamber’s growth. We are very fortunate to have such a strong, amiable and high-spirited group of professionals who are passionate about the McAllen Chamber and what it does.”

At the start of last year, the Ambassadors decided to start a brag donation fund. Each time they elect to brag about a personal incident, whether it is work-related or just in general, they had to contribute to the brag fund. By the end of December, the Ambassadors had raised $500. In December, they voted to donate $250 to two-member non-profit organizations that have impacted the community and the entire Rio Grande Valley.
