LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo Mayor, Pete Saenz, along with the “Yes, I will vote” Organization, and representatives of United Independent School District, Laredo Independent School District, Premier High School, Harmony Public Schools, and Laredo College, participated in the Mayoral Proclamation.

Mayor Saenz said that “since 1985 here in Texas, there’s a law focused on ensuring that all youth in the State have the opportunity to express their voice through their vote. The voice of the youth of Laredo and all Texas will have an impact on our future as a City, State, and Nation”.

Also, Mayor Saenz mentioned that the City of Laredo is committed to ensuring that civic participation remains a cherished tradition among all Laredoans, particularly those of the younger generation.

Meanwhile Dr. Martha Villarreal on behalf of the “Yes, I will Vote” Organization stated that today so far they have helped more than 13,000 students in becoming registered voters in Laredo, and will keep motivating them to not only be registered but to exercise their right to vote.
