Texas Border Business and Avalon Spa & Salon joined forces to make some very lucky Mothers happy during their special celebration this month. The participation of several of our costumers was important because they were asked to recommend one of their favorite Moms for a day of special pampering treatments done through Avalon Spa & Salon. Located at 2645 Cornerstone Boulevard in Edinburg, Texas, Avalon is renowned for offering high-end luxury beauty services and treatments.
Avalon Spa & Salon is owned and operated under the direction of Dr. Hector De La Cruz and Dr. Alex Flores.
Dr. De La Cruz was born in Edinburg, Texas to Hector and Hilaria De La Cruz. He met his wife, Vangie, during a summer job his junior year of high school when he was working at the Edinburg Public Library. They have three wonderful children: Alec, Matthew, and Callista De La Cruz.
Avalon is a full-service Spa & Salon with Dr. De La Cruz stating “That what makes us unique to the South Texas area is the fact that we offer 200 different services with a back bar found in only the top spas in the nation”. Avalon’s back bar offers a variety of professional products used on clients to ensure the best and most luxurious experience possible. Their back bar is made up of premium luxury products from nationally known companies including: Bumble & Bumble, Aveda, and Phytomer to name a few. Products used in the spa and salon services can be purchased in store and come highly recommended.
Ashley Martinez is the manager and works very closely with the principals of the spa and salon and coordinates daily efforts with their 28-team members. Dr. De La Cruz said, “We have 6 hairstylists, 5 nail technicians, 7 receptionists, a maintenance member, an office manager, 5 massage therapists, and 3 estheticians.”
Dr. De La Cruz told Texas Border Business that his inspiration for a business like this came when he realized that unique services were needed in the region. He stated, “I wanted to bring a spa that offered services that were not offered in the Valley and all under one roof with impeccable service. I also wanted to provide an opportunity for people in these professions to reach their highest pinnacle.”
In addition he said, “I will continue to set the tone in this industry in the Valley and offer clients the best service possible.”
