McAllen, Texas – Judge Nereida Lopez-Singleterry announced today that she officially filed the required paperwork for a place on the ballot in the 2024 Democratic Primary as a candidate for Judge of Hidalgo County’s 476th District Court. After initially announcing her intent to run for the position earlier this year, filing with the Hidalgo County Democratic Party was the next step to make the run official.
“I am so thankful and excited at this opportunity to serve the wonderful families of Hidalgo County,” said Singleterry. “My extensive experience, integrity, and hard work give me a unique perspective, and I am confident that these qualifications and values make me the best candidate for the position,” she added.
Singleterry brings a wealth of experience from her career in the judicial and legal fields. She has been a practicing attorney for thirteen years, currently operating a private practice representing people in all aspects of the law. She currently serves as Municipal Judge for the City of San Juan and previously served our community as an Associate Judge of Master Court for Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, and Starr counties and as a public defender in Hidalgo County.
Singleterry’s experience litigating and presiding over thousands of civil, criminal, and family law cases gives her a well-rounded perspective that will serve her well as Judge of the 476th District Court.
“As your Judge of the 476th District Court, I will serve with the utmost respect and integrity and will use my best judgment to impart justice fairly and equitably, in the best interest of Hidalgo County families,” she added.
The Democratic Primary election for Hidalgo County’s 476th District Court is scheduled for March 2024.
