Nixon’s tenure at International Bancshares Corporation has been marked by visionary strategies and a commitment to excellence, transforming the company into an industry-leading financial institution with assets of approximately $16.5 billion. The resolution published by Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini highlighted Nixon’s key role in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), his relentless efforts to spur economic development throughout the corporation’s footprint, and his pivotal role in promoting and preserving educational opportunities for young people everywhere, with a special focus on minorities and low-to-moderate income individuals.
Most notable is Nixon’s stewardship to raise over $4 million for MD Anderson Cancer Center this past year and a total of $11 million in the past 10 years, demonstrating International Bancshares Corporation’s commitment to improve the health and quality of life for all citizens.
