(NOV. 1, 2015) MCALLEN, TEXAS – IBC Bank-McAllen dedicated an entire week, Oct. 25-31, to their bank’s teller team. To celebrate “Teller Appreciation Week,” the McAllen team kicked it off with a public reception and proclamation announcement from City of McAllen Mayor Jim Darling.

Teller Appreciation Week is the only official proclamation of its kind in McAllen and it celebrates the diligent work tellers provide IBC Bank customers on a regular basis.

“We wouldn’t be able to serve the community without our frontline employees,” IBC Bank President and CEO R. David Guerra said. “’We Do More’ is a way of life for our employees, and we want to do more for them.”

Students from Sam Houston Elementary’s Houstonville Minitropolis® IBC Bank attended the proclamation event. Houstonville’s mayor, Sofia Flores, along with Houstonville IBC Bank presidents, Abigail Ortiz and Kalani Evans, were joined by their bank’s vice presidents to honor the student tellers for their work during the school year.

“We, the presidents, know your job is difficult at times, but we know our Houstonville IBC Bank could not function without you,” Evans said. “We hope all tellers will enjoy their week because they deserve it.”

The Teller Appreciation Week concluded with a casino-themed employee celebration, which included its annual awards ceremony.
