In his Facebook account, Joe Brown wished his wife, Dora, a happy 47th anniversary. “We were so young when we got married, but we married for richer or poor. Certainly, neither one of us had money, but God has blessed us in so many different ways,” Joe wrote.
According to Joe, love and respect for one another is the number one rule for marriage success.
“Remember,” he said, “love, hope, faith, and charity, of which above all is love.”
He continued to say, “We loved and have loved each other and raised a beautiful daughter and now a gorgeous granddaughter.”
In his message, he emphasized their hope and the best for each other, but above all, he said, “God blessed us throughout the years with good health and good jobs to take care of our family.” Forty-seven years is a lifetime, love, dedication, and like he says, ‘faith.’
“We always believed that God is with us in the darkest hours and our brightest moments.” Joe is eternally grateful to God for the blessings for him and his family. “The blessings have been more than we deserve; however, God has also given us the ability to share with many others.”
Joe and Dora have been longtime residents of the Rio Grande Valley and have participated in numerous charity events. They have given of their time to help others in need and it seems they will continue to do for a long time.
“Without Honor, Love, and Respect for each other and our family and friends, we have nothing. Happy 47th Wedding Anniversary, Thank you, GOD.” Joe wrote.
