Brownsville, TX – MMLC Holdings/AMFCO Logistics, an international customs broker, will expand its operations by constructing a 30,000 square foot warehouse and distribution facility at the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) North Brownsville Industrial Park (NBIP) located off Paredes Line Rd. MMLC Holdings proposes to invest over $1,000,000 and employ a minimum of eight employees.

“MMLC Holdings is currently operating at two different locations, their relocation to the NBIP will allow the company to gain efficiencies through the consolidation and possible expansion of their operations at this strategic location, located in close proximity to Interstate 169, Interstate 69, and the Port of Brownsville,” said Helen Ramirez, CEO/ Executive Director of GBIC.

“MMLC Holdings/AMFCO Logistics and I wish to thank GBIC for the opportunity to work together on this deal. We believe this project will be instrumental in our growth as a company. GBIC understood our needs and provided great support throughout the process of getting the deal done. We especially want to thank Ramiro Aleman and Helen Ramirez for their hard work during these negotiations,” said Luis Rodriguez, Owner of MMLC Holdings. “They were able to accurately answer all our questions and provide solutions,” concluded Rodriguez.

The consolidation of operations in Brownsville will allow MMLC Holdings to continue building its international reach in supporting clients on both sides of the border.

“One of strategic goals is to increase the industrial tax base for the City of Brownsville,” said John Cowen, Jr., Chairman of the GBIC Board of Directors. “This tract of land has been undeveloped for far too long and not produced tax revenue for the city or much needed employment for the Brownsville community. Now, not only will it produce tax revenue, but also add additional workforce to the local economy.”

“It’s good to see new construction at the North Brownsville Industrial Park,” continued Ramirez. “MMLC Holdings is the second company to locate at the industrial park this year, demonstrating momentum and growth in our Brownsville economy.”
