McAllen, TX (June 12, 2015) – Earning college credit during a regular semester is sometimes not a viable option for students who are busy due to work or other circumstances in their lives. South Texas College recognizes the need to accommodate all students by offering mini-mesters, shorter semesters offering the same credit hours, throughout each term.

Registration is currently open for the next summer mini-mester beginning on July 6, and the first fall mini-mester beginning on August 24.

Mini-mesters are great for students who are unable to begin the semester in the typical fashion. While the length of a regular semester is 16 weeks, mini-mesters range from 5 to 14 weeks, offering plenty of flexibility. As an extra bonus, students can register for a mini-mester course right up to the first day of each class.

Online classes, in addition to regular classroom and even hybrid courses that combine face-to-face classroom instruction with online learning are also available during mini-mesters. Students who register for a mini-mester are advised that although the length of the semester is shorter, the curriculum equals that of a regular term, requiring commitment during the focused pace of the courses.

For a complete listing of mini-mester courses available and to register, visit southtexascollege.edu. The final payment deadline for Summer II is June 30.
