Most of us quickly identify mesquite as a great source of flavoring on the grill, yet there is so much more! This year Quinta Mazatlán’s Planta Nativa celebration features the majestic mesquite tree where attendees will have the unique opportunity to experience five F’s of mesquite come to life: Food for people & wildlife, Formula as medicine/healing, Furniture/flooring, Fuel for fire and Flora for Fauna.

Mesquite is an extraordinary hard wood more commonly known for building furniture and adding flavor with its distinct smoky, sweetness to grilled foods. Unfortunately, few have experienced the delectable flavor and healing properties of its beans. Native plants provide multiple benefits to people and wildlife, while contributing greatly to healthy soil and water in urban and rural areas. Award-winning keynote speaker Christine Ten Eyck will be presenting “Return of the Natives,” on the large outdoor LED screen under the stars.

“There is something for everyone at Planta Nativa 2019,” said Lisa Ramirez, Recreation Supervisor at Quinta Mazatlán. “Impress your date with tickets and enjoy the social element, come with friends and get Christmas shopping out of the way, or come alone and meet other likeminded souls!”

Planta Nativa 2019 takes place Thursday, October 17th, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Quinta Mazatlán. Tickets are $15.00 and are all-inclusive. Enjoy live music, mesquite inspired tapas, beer, wine and have exclusive access to native plant sales and unique artesian vendors.  Advance ticket purchase is required via (search: “Planta Nativa”).
