As the City of McAllen moves forward with the Quinta Mazatlan Center for Urban Ecology project, storm infrastructure construction will cause a road closure along Bales Road.

Due to additional changes required for the project, the roadway will be closed to all through traffic between S. 10^th St. and S. 6^th Ln. through Monday, May 6, 2024..

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes during the road closure and exercise extreme caution and patience when traveling along in the area.  Motorists should expect some delays and congestion.
