Five Criminal Migrants Arrested After Illegally Entering U.S.

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) agents continue arresting migrants with severe criminal history and or gang affiliation.

McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended three subjects after they illegally entered the United States near Palmview, Texas. Among them, a Mexican national, was identified as a registered sex offender. The 40-year-old migrant was arrested in 2006 for aggravated assault and battery with a weapon in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.

MCS agents apprehended a group of 38 subjects in Mission, Texas. At a Border Patrol processing facility, it was determined that a Mexican national in the group is a Paisa gang member.

MCS agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, apprehended seven individuals after they illegally entered the United States. At the station, criminal records checks identified the migrant as a Sureno 13 gang member. The migrant has prior removals from the U.S.

Eighteen subjects illegally entered the United States through Hidalgo, Texas. Through a criminal records check, MCS agents identified, Angel Oliva-Diaz, a Salvadoran national, as a registered sex offender. Oliva-Diaz was arrested in 2019 for sexual assault- sodomy of a girl by the Richmond Police Department in Virginia. He was subsequently sentenced to 36 months’ confinement.

Later that evening, Brownsville Border Patrol Station agents apprehended one subject after he illegally entered the United States through Brownsville, Texas. At the station, records checks revealed a 43-year-old Guatemalan national was wanted out of Barrow County Sheriff’s Office in Winder, Georgia, for molestation of a child in 2019.

Border Patrol processed the subjects accordingly.
