EDINBURG, Texas – The City of Edinburg Cultural Arts Department, in partnership with the Veterans Committee, invites graduating high school seniors in Edinburg who have committed to serving in the United States Armed Forces to register for the Military Enlistment Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. at the Edinburg Arts, Culture & Event (ACE) Center, located at 315 W. McIntyre St.
This ceremony will honor and recognize local students who have made the courageous decision to enlist in the military, celebrating their commitment to service, sacrifice, and country alongside family members, educators, and community leaders. Students who have enlisted are encouraged to register by May 10 at https://www.edinburgarts.com/militarysignup to be included in this special community recognition event.

Edinburg proudly stands as a Hometown of Heroes, and this ceremony continues the tradition of honoring those who choose to serve. Participants will be recognized as they begin their journey in the United States Armed Forces, joining the legacy of service represented by local heroes such as Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Alfredo “Freddy” Gonzalez and many others who have served with distinction.
“This ceremony is how we recognize the next generation of service members,” said Mayor Omar Ochoa. “These students represent courage, commitment, and the best of Edinburg’s values. We encourage all eligible students to register so we can honor them.”
This event is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the City of Edinburg, the Cultural Arts Department, and the Edinburg Veterans Committee.
