McAllen Police Officers continue to investigate the fatal motor vehicle collision on the 1600 block of North Bicentennial Boulevard, reported November 29, 2025. Alcohol consumption is believed to be a factor in this crash.
Gabriela Nunez Garcia is currently in custody and faces charges of Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault. Gabriela Nunez Garcia is suspected of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and by reason of this intoxication, caused the death of Jacob Roel Rodriguez and caused serious bodily injury to five (5) other passengers of a Ford Bronco SUV. Gabriela Nunez Garcia was arranged in the McAllen Municipal Court and was remanded to the Hidalgo County Jail in lieu of bond.
This investigation remains ongoing. The Department continues to work with local and state agencies to investigate these offenses. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
