WESLACO, Texas – Costa Messa marked its one-month anniversary following the April 2, 2026, opening of its Weslaco location, the company’s third overall in the Rio Grande Valley and first in the city, contributing to ongoing commercial growth and business activity throughout the area.
The 12,012-square-foot plaza property features approximately 7,000 square feet occupied by the restaurant and bar and is owned by Christopher Acosta and co-owned by Bobby and Marsha Acosta.
Marsha Acosta, co-owner of Costa Messa, noted that while new restaurants often face challenges during their first year, the Weslaco location has performed strongly due to the brand’s established reputation, strong community response and support from the Economic Development Corporation of Weslaco (EDCW).

“Sales have been very good,” Marsha Acosta said. “We’ve had customers say, ‘Thank you for bringing Costa Messa to Weslaco.”
Bobby Acosta, co-owner of Costa Messa, said the new location has attracted families and helped foster a strong sense of community. He added that Weslaco proved to be the right place for expansion.
“We are dedicated to supporting our community by creating opportunities for local residents and contributing in any way we can,” Bobby Acosta said.
Additional commercial activity is expected to open in the suites adjacent to Costa Messa, within the next few months.
“We already have two businesses currently under construction, with one or two spaces still available for lease, depending on the type of business,” she said. “One is an independent coffee shop, which will be opening its second Weslaco location, and the other is a pilates fitness studio.”
The Acostas shared that their decision to establish Costa Messa in Weslaco was driven by both timing and the city’s continued opportunity for growth.
“We saw potential in the location and we were ready to merge a family partnership to expand into larger projects and new territory,” they said.
EDCW Board President Sandra Charlton said Costa Messa has quickly established itself as a key dining destination in the city and is expected to remain a strong option for both business and personal gatherings.
“I am excited to see the success Costa Messa has achieved in such a short time,” Charlton said. “New businesses like this contribute to Weslaco’s economic growth by creating opportunities, attracting investment, and strengthening our local economy as our community continues to expand.”
Costa Messa is located on 1001 Town Center Blvd Suite 6, Weslaco, TX 78596 and operates daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and extended hours until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Despite operating multiple locations, the Acostas said Costa Messa continues to remain committed as a family-owned establishment, actively involved in day-to-day operations and community engagement.
