EDINBURG, Texas – The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library is excited to host the second Community Engineering Design Challenge, led by the facilitator of the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars program. This hands-on workshop will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the library located at 1906 South Closner Blvd.
Designed for middle and high school students, the challenge provides a unique opportunity to collaborate, develop teamwork skills, and explore STEM-related career paths. Participants will work alongside fellow STEM enthusiasts, tackle a real-world design challenge, and gain inspiration to become the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.

Adding to the excitement, NASA’s Mobile Exhibit Trailer will make a special appearance, offering a rare and immersive space exploration experience. The interactive exhibit features one of only nine touchable Moon rocks in the world, eight stunning 4K monitors displaying NASA’s latest missions, astronaut food displays, and a photo opportunity with an extravehicular activity (EVA) spacesuit. Visitors will also have the chance to participate in mock astronaut training by trying on gloves and a helmet to experience the challenges astronauts face in space.
NASA’s Mobile Exhibit Trailer will be open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the library parking lot, providing a free, hands-on experience for the entire community. This exciting exhibit offers a glimpse into NASA’s discoveries, the upcoming return to the Moon, and the future of space exploration.
