The Pharr City Commission approved a proclamation recognizing May 10-16, 2026, as Pharr Police Memorial Week, held in conjunction with National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15. The proclamation was presented to Chief of Police Juan F. Gonzalez and members of the Pharr Police Department, honoring the service and sacrifice of officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and recognizing the dedication of those who continue to serve.
Commissioners praised the department for their commitment to protecting the community. “We are thankful for the leadership and support of our city leaders as we recognize this week as a time to honor those we have lost in the line of duty,” said Chief Gonzalez.
