BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The City of Brownsville Communications & Marketing Department (CMD) and Brownsville TV (BTV) have been recognized by the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) with three TAMI Award honors for excellence in municipal communications, video production, event coverage, and public information campaigns.
The statewide recognition highlights the City’s continued commitment to producing clear, creative, and community-focused content that informs residents, promotes civic engagement, celebrates local traditions, and showcases Brownsville’s growth and achievements.

“These awards reflect the talent, dedication, and professionalism of our Communications and Marketing team and Brownsville TV,” said Alan Guard, ICMA-CM, CGFO, Brownsville City Manager. “Our CMD’s goal is to tell Brownsville’s story with purpose, accuracy, and pride. Whether they are highlighting major City achievements, promoting downtown revitalization, or capturing one of our community’s most beloved traditions, our work is centered on keeping residents informed and connected.”
The Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers recognizes outstanding communications work by municipal governments across Texas. The TAMI Awards honor excellence in public information, media production, digital engagement, community outreach, and government communications.

During the July 7 Commission Meeting, the CMD & BTV Team was recognized for their commitment to producing original content that highlights City services, public safety, quality-of-life initiatives, economic growth, cultural traditions, and the people and residents who help move Brownsville forward.
