The Democratic Party has tried several times, and they have not been able to become part of the Supreme Court system in the state of Texas. And it’s not that they have not had excellent candidates, the timing has not been right, according to Gilberto Hinojosa, he is an attorney and the Chair for the Democratic party in Texas.

This occasion, Brandy Voss aspires to become one of the nine judges of the Supreme Court of Justice and be able to give opinions that represent a different point of view.

Besides, for the last 20 years, there has been no representation from South Texas, and there ar only two women currently serving in the group of nine judges.

If Voss wins in 2020, it would be one of the most significant triumphs in South Texas. So, seeing it from this point of view, this political career will be one that you cannot miss and watch.

During her kick-off campaign event, Hinojosa said that there is going to be a lot of money coming to support democrats, let’s see if this is true.

According to him, the fact that Donald Trump is in office, it will be of benefit, and he said, “I don’t know how you feel about Mr. Trump, and I frankly don’t care, but for us …Democrats, and Brandy’s running as a Democrat, for us as Democrats he is the gift that keeps on giving.”

Taking aside those comments, Voss has proven to be a professional in her field, and there is no doubt that she could be an extraordinary judge. For now, she is a formidable contender.

I welcome back Jorge Millan, one of Texas Border Business most distinguished guest writers. He is in Mexico City practicing law. In this issue find his column and read about the 2018 use of Trademarks in Mexico changes that might pertain to your business, if you do business in Mexico.

Talking about Mexico, Aeromar Mexican airline, which operates from the McAllen International Airport is offering a fantastic roundtrip deal to Mexico for only $250. Look inside this issue and find the link or if you prefer a QR for you to get your tickets.

The other good news is that the McAllen International Airport announced that Allegiant’s New Non-Stop Service to Phoenix. The service begins October 3, 2019, and it works as follows: Allegiant will provide nonstop service from McAllen International Airport (MFE) to Phoenix, Arizona via Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA). What a way to celebrate, only flyers benefit with these prices.

Also, in this issue, an interview with Mr. Danny Smith, one of the principals at Matt’s Building Supplies. They celebrated 50 years in business a few weeks ago, and they shared the celebration with customers, friends, and family.
