EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents interdict hard narcotics at checkpoints.
Thursday morning, Kingsville agents working at the Javier Vega Jr. Checkpoint referred a sports utility vehicle for secondary inspection after a K-9 alert. During the inspection, agents discovered multiple bundles of methamphetamine hidden within the vehicle. The narcotics weighed 75 pounds, worth estimated value of $2.4M.
On Sunday, Falfurrias agents working at the checkpoint referred a pickup for secondary inspection after a K-9 alert. At secondary, agents discovered several bundles of cocaine hidden throughout the vehicle. The cocaine weighed nearly 62 pounds, worth an estimated $1.9M.
Border Patrol referred both cases to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
