Border Patrol seizes Hard Narcotics at Checkpoints

EDINBURG, Texas â€“ U.S. Border Patrol agents disrupted two separate narcotics smuggling cases resulting in the seizure of methamphetamine during the past week.

On September 26, 2019, U.S. Border Patrol Agents working at the Javier Vega Jr. U.S. Border Patrol Checkpoint seized 142 pounds of methamphetamine worth an estimated $4,500,000.

In a separate incident on September 27, 2019, agents assigned to the Falfurrias Checkpoint referred a commercial passenger bus for secondary inspection. A service canine alerted to a suitcase in the luggage compartment. None of the passengers claimed ownership of the suitcase. During a search of the contents, a four bundles of methamphetamine were found. The narcotics weighed nearly 9 pounds worth an estimated $300,000 dollars.

US Border Patrol processed both cases accordingly.
