Rep. Cuellar Mourns Loss of Laredo Native David Espinoza

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) released the following statement in response to the death of Laredo native David Espinoza, a marine killed in the twin explosions at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – After tastings, intense deliberations, and review of everything from books, beignets, and bottled water, to syrups, sausage and seasonings, H-E-B’s Quest for Texas Best named FOUR winners at the eighth annual competition. The winners of the 2021 event hail from Dallas, Austin and Santa Elena and received a combined $70,000 in cash prizes and coveted space on H-E-B store shelves statewide.

McAllen Delegation Participates in Commercial Mission to El Salvador

A McAllen delegation recently traveled to El Salvador, attending an invitation by Ambassador of El Salvador to the U.S. Milena Mayorga to commercial mission from Texas to El Salvador to promote collaboration and investment between San Salvador and McAllen.

Additional Medical Personnel, Equipment to Assist Hospitals with COVID-19 Response Is On the Way

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) will be deploying an additional 2,500 medical staff to support health care facilities in Texas, including hospitals and nursing homes. This will bring the total number of medical personnel deployed across the state to 8,100. In addition, DSHS is providing medical equipment requested by Texas medical facilities including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, heart monitors, IV pumps, feeding pumps, and hospital beds.
