Sponsoring the Next Generation of Commercial Finance Leadership an Important Goal
NEW YORK, October 11, 2016 –On October 1, the Commercial Finance Association (CFA) announced its new Executive and Management Committees for 2017. The Committees, comprised of key leaders in the commercial finance industry, will guide the Association, make policy decisions, confirm new members and provide advocacy, education and thought leadership for the industry.
Andrea Petro, Executive Vice President, Division Manager of Lender Finance and Resort Finance, Wells Fargo Capital Finance, Wells Fargo & Company, will serve as CFA President.
“The CFA’s future for many years ahead will be impacted by how effectively we integrate our next generation of leaders into the Association. We have the opportunity to sponsor, guide and mentor young leaders who will move the Association forward. We will continue our efforts through the Women in Commercial Finance Committee and the Young Professionals Committee to recruit, develop and include a diverse group of talented young leaders within the CFA,” said Petro. “The CFA’s governance has been reformed to place more decision-making authority with the standing committee members. This is the right time and opportunity for all members to make their voices heard and positively contribute to the Association,” she added.
Ms. Petro has served on several CFA committees, including the board of directors of the CFA Education Foundation.
With over 30 years of experience in the asset-based lending industry, Ms. Petro established Wells Fargo Capital Finance Lender Finance division in 2000, then known as Wells Fargo Foothill, and oversees its daily operations today.
The Dallas-based division is a leading provider of credit facilities starting at $15 million to middle-market, specialty finance companies throughout North America such as factors and asset-based lenders, equipment leasing and finance companies, and other specialty finance companies. Ms. Petro’s success with the Lender Finance division led to the expansion of her role and the formation of the Resort Finance and Supply Chain Finance units.
Prior to joining Foothill, Ms. Petro was Senior Vice President, National Marketing Manager of the Financial Services Funding Division of Transamerica Business Credit.
Ms. Petro earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University and her masters of business administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
“The CFA wouldn’t be where it is today without the hard work, dedication and insight of our Executive and Management Committees. Looking to the future, we are able to continually take CFA to the next level because of the commitment and engagement of our leaders and members,” stated Bob Trojan, CFA Chief Executive Officer.
