The Texas Broadband Development Office was established by House Bill 5, 87th Legislative Session, to be operated by Glenn Hegar, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Mr. Alonzo Cantu, appointed by Speaker of the House Dade Phelan and Mr. Sergio Contreras, appointed by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick are board members from South Texas.
