McAllen, TX – Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is thrilled to announce the launch of “Chow Down Showdown: Battle of the Chambers,” a friendly but fierce pet food drive competition running April 21 through May 20. In celebration of National Pet Month, three local chambers will battle it out to collect the most pet food for the animals of PVAS.
This year’s competing chambers are:
- McAllen Chamber of Commerce
- Edinburg Chamber of Commerce
- RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Weekly donation pickups will take place every Friday — April 25, May 2, May 9, and May 16 — with social media updates following each collection. PVAS will share a running leaderboard and photos of each chamber’s designated ambassador during pickups.
The chamber with the largest total donation by weight will earn the title of Golden Kibble Cup Champion, along with social media and newsletter recognition — and, of course, eternal bragging rights.

Join Palm Valley Animal Society’s Chow Down Showdown: Battle of the Chambers – a pet food drive competition running April 21–May 20! This friendly challenge invites local chambers to collect pet food for shelter animals, with weekly pickups, photo ops, and the chance to be crowned the Golden Kibble Cup Champion.
The first week (April 21–26) will serve as a preliminary event, open to any chambers wanting to join. Participating chambers at the end of this week will be locked in as this year’s official competitors.
