Pedro Ayala, our newest Guest Writer brought us an article with renderings about a fabulous project that could be named SOLARA. This new and exciting project will be built in the old McAllen civic center site occupying 13 acres of land.
During a visit that Mayor Jim Darling made to the Rotary Club McAllen South the attendees asked him for more information about the project and he said, “I don’t know how much I can say right now. We sold it, and we received the first ten million dollars. There’s another million and a half dollars pending to start.”
Mayor Darling mentioned that all of the transactions are under a framework where the developer has to perform as agreed or risks being penalized.
In this issue, our readers can see and admire the renderings of the project and see how it will look. The developer is also trying to get a Cinema to be part of the project. He said that it could even be an IMAX.
Over all, the mayor and city commission are looking for something very unique, and as you will be able to see, the renderings are fantastic.
