The Zambrano Law Firm and the Shoot For The Stars Foundation are leading a significant community effort to equip students for the upcoming school year through their 7th Annual Backpack Giveaway. The event, which will take place on August 16, 2025, at Aylyn’s Event Center in San Juan, Texas, begins at 9:00 a.m. and will continue “until supplies last.”

“Giving back to the community is something the Shoot For The Stars Foundation—a nonprofit founded by Jorge Zambrano, brother of attorney Jesse Zambrano, to host backpack and turkey giveaways—takes great pride in,” event organizers stated. “Our goal is simple: by ensuring every student has access to the school supplies they need to succeed, community events like backpack giveaways play a vital role in supporting our community.”

This year’s initiative is inclusive. According to the organizers, “The backpacks are intended for all students across all grade levels within the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District, as well as any children from those cities and the surrounding communities.” Each child must be present to receive a backpack, and distribution will follow a drive-through format, “limited to one backpack per child.”

“We established the Shoot for the Stars Foundation to help needy families in the PSJA area and surrounding communities by giving out backpacks and school supplies before the start of the school year,” stated Jorge Zambrano. He continued, “We want to thank all our sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible.”

Every backpack will be ready for immediate use. “Yes, the backpacks will be pre-filled with essential school supplies. The Zambrano Law Firm team will be handling the packing of all backpacks before the event to ensure they are ready for distribution,” the statement confirmed.

Promotion of the event is being handled through “active promotion on our social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram,” which organizers say helps them “reach an extensive audience across the community and keep everyone updated with the latest event details.”

The Zambrano Law Firm, founded by Attorney Jesus “Jesse” Zambrano, is a Texas-based personal injury practice with offices in McAllen, San Juan, Alamo, and San Antonio. Specializing in cases involving car accidents, trucking collisions, wrongful deaths, and other serious injuries, the firm is known for “compassionate representation, ethical guidance, and aggressive advocacy.” Jesse Zambrano, who earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, has “secured millions in recovery for injured plaintiffs.”

Beyond legal work, the firm is deeply engaged in education and mentorship. Its Legal Eagles Pipeline Program “guides high school and college students interested in pursuing careers in law” and provides “hands-on experience with real cases… and help with law school applications, LSAT prep, and professional development.”

As organizers of Shoot For The Stars emphasized, these events “promote inclusion and equitable opportunity by giving out backpacks stocked with essential supplies, ensuring that no child is left behind because of a lack of resources.” They also serve a bigger purpose: “In addition to providing useful assistance, these gatherings foster a sense of community, show concern for one another, and foster a supportive atmosphere where everyone can receive an education.”
