The innovative capacity of American enterprise is mobilizing like never before to fight this pandemic.

“Even as we all do our part—as good citizens and responsible businesses—our hopes are pinned on breakthroughs in treatments and technologies and progress toward a vaccine. If you think about it, those are the ultimate return to work initiatives. We’ve always said, we will return to work when we return to health—and science will get us there.”

That’s what U.S. Chamber President Suzanne Clark told attendees yesterday at the virtual kickoff for Discover & Deliver, a Chamber initiative telling the innovation story behind the all-of-nation effort to beat COVID-19.

Event highlights included the launch of a new interactive map, revealing the 570+ clinical trials of potential COVID-19 solutions happening in all 50 states, across 85 percent of congressional districts.

deeper dive into the map’s data provides insights about the work underway—would you have guessed that more than 13 million people in the United States have participated in COVID-19 related study?

The scope is as impressive as the speed, and the map shows how American innovators are doing their part to fight COVID-19. But they can’t do it alone.

They are relying on legislators to support smart innovation policy – that means supporting public-private partnerships, protecting intellectual property, and removing trade barriers and unnecessary regulations.

With the right innovation policy agenda in place, we’ll help ensure that the medical discoveries happening today can be delivered to patients tomorrow.

That’s why Discover & Deliver will be conducting virtual events in communities across the United States to engage local leaders, share the latest information, and provide a ”boots on the ground” view of progress underway.
