RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics learned on Thursday that the women’s soccer program has earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for posting a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher during the 2021-22 academic year.
The women’s soccer program earned its seventh academic award in the last eight years after posting a 3.48 GPA last year.
A total of 746 soccer programs posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn the award.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2021-22 academic year.
