A sold out Industry event was held by the Women’s Council of REALTORS® McAllen Network. The Membership Project team made sure to follow all protocols during registration as they welcomed members by checking attendee temperatures, making sure masks were worn and offering hand sanitizer.
The first in-person meeting was a success as the organization welcomed Richard Cortez, Hidalgo County Judge. He provided a very informative presentation regarding countywide update on projects such as the construction of the new Hidalgo County Courthouse. Judge Cortez updated the real estate industry professionals on the efforts made to vaccinate Hidalgo County residents.
The Women’s Council appreciates the support and investment of the Members, Strategic Partners, National Affiliates and Friend of Women’s Council Of REALTORS® The support of the event sponsor, Sierra Title was appreciated as the company provided the centerpieces that were given away to attendees during the door prize drawing. Sally Fraustro Guerra welcomed guests as the mistress of ceremonies. Former President Robby Valadez was a guest speaker as he shared with the audience his many reasons for remaining as an active member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. He continues to share his knowledge and experience with upcoming and future Presidents and has served as a mentor to many. 2020 Immediate Past President Alma Paek shared her words of inspiration as part of the program.
The Governing Board is focused on providing members with the opportunity to network to gain more business and to earn continuing education credit throughout the year, courtesy of the Women’s Council. The Board has scheduled a one hour course on Wire Fraud and Cyber Crime awareness and prevention on Wednesday, April 14thfrom 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. It will be held via Zoom and is free to all members.
